Greetings and a Happy New Year from the SETU Nepal family. We are pleased to publish this edition of our newsletter. It has been quite an exciting year for SETU Nepal as we have completed our beautician training for 17 non-residential and 3 residential women and are now running computer training for 14 women which is going very well. Through our education sponsorship program we are supporting more children who are all in full time education and progressing well.

We would like to thank all our supporters without who it would be impossible to run our programs. We wish to thank all our friends in US and Norway, as well as our many friends in London Probation who are sponsoring the majority of our children.

During 2008 SETU Nepal conducted research on ‘Women Behind Bars in Nepal’ which was conducted in three parts of the country. The findings are now helping us to develop different programs and intervention strategies to battle against the exploitation of women. We wish to thank our supporters for enabling us to conduct this research.

Let us join together to make positive changes to the lives of the women and children in Nepal.
