Summary: Ranjana Parimal is an sixteen years old girl from Nawalparasi, Nepal and has been living for  four years in the transit home of SETU Nepal. She was the youngest of her six siblings and was only the child with HIV. Her parents died due to HIV infection that resulted to deteriorate her health very badly. Ranjana’s health was worsening and after being boycott by her families and relatives, the community collected money to send her to Kathmandu and never return her there thinking she would transmit her disease. Ranjana is an eleven-year-old girl from Nawalparasi, Gaidakot-3 and has been living  in the transit home of SETU Nepal since 2015. Her parents gave birth to seven children, Ranjana being the youngest. Ranjana’s father was sick, he had problem of chest pain and excessive weight loss, he was under treatment but unfortunately he died.Later her mother’s health also deteriorated day by day and when the tests were conducted, it was found that she was HIV positive  and died due to the consequences of the disease. At that time Ranjana, her two sisters and her four brothers have been tested if whether they are also infected by HIV and the result showed that only Ranjana is HIV positive. Ranjana’s health was getting worse and she was suffering from fever. In fear that the young girl could infect other children, the people from her village decided to collect money in order to bring her to another place. She was left alone in Kathmandu and in this desperate moment a person from a local organisation (Lumbini Plus) decided to refer her to SETU Nepal. At that time Ranjana was really weak and suffered from wounds that had spread all over her body. She immediately received antibiotics and HIV fighting treatment, which saved her life.
Untitled-1Now, Ranjana is living in the Aarati House with the other children of SETU Nepal. Though her health is normal now  she is very sensitive to different opportunistic infections. So, she gets attacked by  pneumonia, fever, mumps and other diseases very frequently. Due to this reason she needs extra care and attention all the time for her better health.Ranjana is an intelligent girl and is very obedient  child .
