A Refreshing Day-out with Participant Mothers

The livelihood training program of Setu not only focuses on the economic empowerment but equally prioritizes the social freedom of women. After the four-day residential training session Setu conducts excursion visit to historical places in Kathmandu where participants receive promising opportunity to enjoy the number of beautiful scenarios around and be familiar with the historical plot of Nepal. In the last Income Generating Training session of year 2017, the participants visited Pasupatinath Temple, Narayanhiti Museum, Basantapur Durbar Square and Sundharaand were much happy to spend such religious and pleasant day. In our residential training session most of the participant mother have bitter background with lack of freedom to visit out of their home or in fact they do not possess financial potential to travel for relaxation. Moreover, majority of participants visit capital for the first time and thus we utilize every single opportunity to make their visit meaningful. In our last visit also, all the places were new for the participants and expressed their joy to receive the blessing of Pasupatinath and were happiest to visit Narayanhiti museum. One of them stated, “ I had not even dreamt of visiting the palace where our King lived. I feel much blessed.” The whole day provided them a golden chance for mental relaxation out of their sorrows and frustrations of daily life and we feel proud to gift such precious moment to our participant mother.
